The "GERWALK" mode is when the VF is between plane and battroid mode, it's legs and, usually, arms are out, but still retains the fuselage of fighter mode.

I use the Bat as a totem for someone special to me, helping them to not dwell on responses to others that are out of their hands (sent emails, texts, etc.).
